Internal obliques refer to a pair of deep abdominal muscles. They are situated external to the transverse abdominal muscle. These internal obliques also perform various functions in the body like flexing the spine, supporting the abdominal contents, playing a role in breathing and many more.
Obliques are very important when you try to develop flat and sexy abs. Many trainers fail to include effective oblique workouts in gym classes. But this is not good at all because obliques are significant muscles which should not be neglected at any cost. Let us discuss the exercise for effective obliques. One such is the sideways cable crunch. This exercise helps in providing fruitful results in terms of strength and appearance. However, this exercise can not be performed at your home as it requires a cable pulley. The way to do it is as follows: Start position- This includes kneeling down on the floor and holding the cable pulley near to your head with one hand. Movement- Comfortable weight should be set by you. Pull the cable downwards diagonally and twist the body to the side. Also twist to the opposite side from the hand which is holding the pulley. Gradually raise yourself until your back is at a slightly elevated angle. Repeat the process.
